Weird ways you're using your beauty products

Each and every beauty product has a ‘directions for use’ printed on the back of the packaging. These instructions are for the benefit of the user; to ensure they get the most from the product and the best results from using it.
But sometimes, we can’t help but be a bit resourceful and use a beauty product in a way in which it is not intended. Who doesn’t love a multi-tasker?
For example, I often use my hair straightener to iron out small creases on clothes or fix up the collar of a shirt. And, as it turns out, the bh staff and beautyheaven members are just as inventive with how they use their beauty products.
Go on, steal their ideas…
“I use my nail clippers instead of scissors to take off clothes tags.” – bh’s Nat
“I rub minty (tingly) lip balms over mosquito bites. They’re so cooling and relieve the itch.” – Jacquelinee
"I’ve been using an eyeshadow smudger to clean the crevices of my laptop’s keyboard and it works extremely well. I have also used foam-tip make-up applicators for the same purpose." - Petal
“Hair spray as a bug killer if I run out of Mortein.” – bh’s Michelle
“When I run out of shaving cream, I use conditioner. It leaves my legs feeling smooth and hydrated.” - MissM19
“I paint my keys with different coloured nail polishes to identify what each one is for. I also use nail polish to write initials on my kids’ belongings so they don’t lose them at school." – MoonlightSak
"I use my hairdryer to ‘iron’ down any clothes that have a kink or are just not sitting right." - sparkles023
“If I’m stuck with a perfume that makes me sneeze or I just don’t like, I use it as a room spray in the bedroom or bathroom.” - CherryBlossom
"I have a red dress that got a little splash of bleach on it and I found an exact shade match with one of my red lipsticks, so I used that to colour it in…no one noticed." - Haniibee44
“Every now and then I use hairspray to set my make-up. I know this is naughty, but it works!” – bh’s Rosie
"I have used my Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream to loosen up the zip of my handbag. I just smeared some along the pathway of the zip and it loosened." – MoonlightSak
“Probably the weirdest thing I do is use a ‘just used’ (so it’s still damp) face wipe to take the dust off a windowsill or kickboard." – softness
“I use my Garnier Micellar Water to clean my desk sometimes.” – bmill229
"I found a suggestion to use hairspray to remove stains, so I sprayed a stain on my blouse with hairspray, then scrubbed and washed it. There was still a faint residue of paint afterwards, but I could hardly see it because of the blouse’s pattern." - Petal
"I have been known to use my hairdryer to dry socks that are still damp. I just slide the sock over the hairdryer and turn it on." – imalittleteapot
"I use nail polish remover to get rid of stains on my leather couches." - Zenna.X
“I use an old shaver to remove fluff off my clothing, which leaves them looking as good as new again." - Vi.
"I use my hairdryer to melt wax strips. It makes them much more even when they are pulled apart." - sparkles023
We’re a bit of a creative bunch, aren’t we? Kudos!

ok my recent hacks with nailpolish..... I had to go a retro glam party. The dress I was wearing had gold detailing therefore I was looking for a retro gold clutch. I found an old glomesh purse which was white. I used sparkly gold nailpolish to paint the purse. It looked extra special and everyone complimented me on the purse.
My husband fitted some shelves in my walk in robe. The shelves were white and one of the shelves had a slight chip. My husband borrowed my white nailpolish to cover the chip.
This one SHHHHH dont tell my husband hahaha .... Recently on a shopping trip lightly scratched my husbands car on a pole. Came home buffed the scratch with wax and lightly painted the scratch with silver nailpolish that matched the car's colour. You cant even notice the damage .

OMG! I have to admit I've done most of these things .... I'm not crazy after all.
Last week I found my son with one of my smaller makeup brushes cleaning out the end of his iPhone. The hairdryer certainly has multiple uses. The painter borrowed it to dry a patch on the wall while painting our house.

Yes I have used hairspray to devastate a poor spider - I don't think I'd do that again - I felt a bit cruel! It certainly got the spider out of my life though. Good idea to control a funnel web because I think then it would be self defence. ; )

These are so funny! I've used a bathroom hand dryer to dry out socks and shoes after a sudden downpour, though I double checked no one was in there to catch me being weird.

I recently tried a micellar product but it didn't work well for me, so I used some of it to clean makeup stains off a table.

Some great tips. I'm glad to see I'm not the only weirdo when it comes to makeup. I use my old toothbrushes to brush my eyebrows before applying brow gel.

Some good tips in this article and from fellow bh members. I am forever hunting for my nail clippers. They have a spot now, so hopefully no more hunting for them!

I've reused cotton pads i've used for my face to wipe surfaces as well! Nail polish remover is so useful to have in the home even if you don't use nail polish.

I do use the nail polish trick to paint house keys and also the fragrance trick as a high-end toilet spray!

Done quite a lot of the above, it just comes down to what tools you have available that can do the job you need it to do at the time. As they say, 'Necessity is the Mother of invention'!
