Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie Reviews

I recently picked this up and I enjoy using it, but not as instructed. I find for this to help hold my curls, it's best in a smallish amount in combination with another curl treatment or styling product. It does a decent job at holding moisture in my hair and decreasing the frizz in my curls, but it isn't the best product for enhancing and styling my curls.

It's a good product to use diluted with water in a spray bottle to refresh curls, however.

ThenSheaMoisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie is like a leave in hair treatment. Using natural oils and ingredients the SheaMoisture brand aim to providing natural treatments with the curl enhancing range to tame and enhance and tame curls and thick hair. This product comes in a little tub. It smells great and refreshing like the rest of the range. Using after the shower on damp hair you only need a small amount. I didn’t not apply it to the roots but focused on the midsections down to the ends. I then braided my hair and let it dry naturally. I found that once I removed the braids my hair was smooth and styled nicely. With the Shea products I found that it works better as a trio using the shampoo, conditioner and treatment together as I find they are not as effective on their own but together the products provide smooth, manageable hair.

Creamy consistency that works well to nourish hair and tame frizz.

I used it for a week - every second day I would use the Shea Moisture shampoo and conditioner and the treatment. I left it on for about half an hour and combed with wide tooth comb- rinsed my hair with cold water and dried gently with cotton shirt, this is supposed to help tame frizz too. I loved the quality of all the Shea Moisture products and noticed my hair being silky, nourished and felt great about using an ethically sound product with no nasty chemicals. A little goes a long way and since my air is thick I didn’t feel like I needed to use half the product to see results. I definitely think it’s worth the price and have recommended it to friends and family as they have curly thick hair and like to go natural.

Overall very impressed with the quality and how it made me feel. I give 5 Stars and will buy it again!

I wanted to love this product so much. I absolutely adore the shampoo and conditioner from the same line from Sheamoisture but for some reason I just can't get this product to work well for me!

When it first arrived I assumed it was a hair mask due to the tub being so alike to other hair masks available out there. But it is actually a leave in product you can use wet or dry.

The scent from the tub when you take off the lid is crazy good, just like the rest of the range. It makes me wish that summer would hurry up and get here faster! It sits pretty thick in the tub, but does move a bit if you tilt it around. It has the consistency of a thick conditioner.

So I usually use a De Lorenzo leave in treatment applied to my damp hair after a shower and so I thought this could easily replace that, judging by the directions, which say to apply product sparingly to damp hair. I have tried it maybe 3 times so far (I wash my hair once a week) and I just haven't been able to get it feeling 'nice'. No matter what I do, it feels awkward on my strands like it's not really sinking, just sitting on top of it. It sort of makes my hair feel tacky and weird. Another unfortunate thing to note is that it made my (thick and curly) hair take so much longer to air dry than usual.

I am going to persist in using it in different ways to hopefully render some better results for myself. I might try mixing it with a bit of water and popping some in a spray bottle?

Anyway I do not want to give up on this product as the shampoo and conditioner from the range have been fabulous and I just can't get enough of the scent.

I was so excited when I heard about trialing this product. I did all the research that I could do so u could use it to its full potential.
The packaging is great and easy to store in my cupboard.
First thing that I noticed about this curl enhancer is just how amazing it smells and it’s got a thick consistency.
I first used this with the matching shampoo and conditioner. It did leave my hair smelling beautiful but I wasn’t happy with how it felt. It did add a great bounce to my natural waves.
The second time I used it with my favourite shampoo and the shea moisture conditioner and I loved the way it made my hair feel look and smell.
I have been so happy with it I have used it ever since i received it.
I will definitely be repurchasing this product and have recommended to family and friends

At first when I opened the parcel containing this Smoothie, I assumed this was a hair mask to do in the shower but it turned out it was sort of like a leave in hair mask I guess? You do not need a lot of this product at all! I only used a little bit and it helped smooth down the frizz for sure, I’m not sure it’s something I would put in my hair all the time though as my hair felt a little oily and I don’t like the idea of not washing it out. As mentioned in my other reviews, this range smells absolutely amazing though, I thoroughly enjoy using the products based on their scent alone haha! This tub would last forever as it’s 340g and as mentioned above, you really do not need much at all. It’s texture is thick and creamy but easy to work through my hair. I like that it’s a family business and that they are certified organic, no animal cruelty etc.

The Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie from SheaMoisture was the third product I got the chance to try as part of a trial team - thank you BH and SheaMositure. As a curly haired girl I am always on the lookout for good leave-in treatments as I find that they make a lot of difference to how my hair will behave after a wash. This curl enhancing smoothie is very aptly named if you ask me as it does exactly that - it enhances the look and feel of my stubborn curls.

This smoothie contains such fabulous ingredients as shea butter, coconut oil, mango seed butter, avocado oil, macadamia seed oil, carrot seed oil, aloe leaf juice, hibiscus flower extract, silk protein and neem oil.

It is a thick and sticky mixture, which can be applied to both wet and dry hair. It is super easy to apply - just section off your hair, take some of the smoothie onto your fingers and spread evenly throughout the length of the hair. I love the scent of it so much - my hair smells divine after I use it. The smoothie makes my hair feel smooth, soft, easy to brush and manage. My curls look much tamer and more defined whenever I use this smoothie. It does not leave any residue behind and do not make my hair feel sticky, stiff or crunchy like some other curl defining products can do.

I particularly like using this smoothie before I braid my hair as I find that it gives my curls that extra bit of oomph after I undo the braids.

The packaging is the only let down for me as it comes in a jar with a screw on top and I am simply not a fan of jars as beauty product containers.
