TWO Pantone Color(s) Of The Year are revealed for 2016!

Every year Pantone® (the world-renowned authority on colour and provider of colour systems) announces their Color Of The Year. Last year, it was Marsala, and the year before that it was Radiant Orchid.
Trendsetters, designers (and pretty much anyone who likes colours) all over the world wait to see which colour will be named THE ONE for the next year, (Sea Siren even created a nail collection for the 2014 colour) - but this time everyone was surprised when TWO colours were chosen for the honour.
Pantone® announced the colours, stating on Instagram:
“It's here! We are proud to announce the Pantone #ColoroftheYear for 2016 is #RoseQuartz & #Serenity.”
A statement was also released to explain that the reasoning behind choosing both Rose Quartz and Serenity, was to represent wellness and connection “as well as a soothing sense of order and peace”.

Personally, the rose quartz shade reminds me of fairy floss (YUM!) and serenity seems like a blue you’d find on a My Little Pony, but together they do remind me of a beautiful sunset. You know when the sky turns all those pretty shades of pinks and blues? And to me, you can’t get much more peaceful than that.
If you’re wondering how you could incorporate these colours into your beauty look, our members have already done the research for you (thanks beauties!) and come up with some shade-matching products:
- M.A.C Lipstick in Saint Germain
- Butter London Nail Lacquer in Sprog ($12, www.adorebeauty.com.au)
- NYX Butter Lipstick in Hubba Bubba
- Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eye Shadow Singles in Sky
- Sally Hansen Miracle Gel™ in Blue Hue
- Maybelline New York Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Inked in Pink
- Max Factor Wild Shadow Pencil in Untamed Pink
Not to mention, there's already some some fabulous hair inspo happening on Instagram:

The Annabell style would be great to wear for Halloween. I like the blue hair but I wouldn't wear it just admiring it.

Rose quartz is an absolutely gorgeous colour and Serenity goes really well with it.

Just looking at the two colours together gives a feeling of serenity. The blue shade is my thing, and I am not normally a pink person but when it's put together with the blue I think they really compliment each other.

I like these two colours though I'm not sure I would wear the blue serenity shade in terms of makeup/nails.

The blue reminds me of the "blue rinse era"- when the more mature lady used a blue rinse in her hair.

Interesting that they chose two, though I would have thought something really different like yellow could have had its day this year
