If you are stocking up, what are you buying?
We've stocked up on Tissues and canned food. Canned food was hubby's idea.
This stocking up on toilet paper, tissues, dettol, hand sanitiser, pasta, rice, tinned food .....
Uses copy and paste ....awesome...thanks for the shopping list Kassalee
I agree Kassalee
Honestly it's ridiculous and I'm glad to see more people calling this out. It is unnecessary and wasteful. I can't imagine how much food is probably going to get thrown out after this blows over all because people bought into hysteria and probably just wanted to be part of that crowd for clout.
I was at my local Woolworths & notice that most locals had been stocking up on long life food like baked beans (most stock gone); canned fish and rolled oats (none in stock).
Lol I saw this last night when I went to woolies, have seen on the news elsewhere in Aus, never expected to see it in my local woolies!!! Shelves totally stripped bare of toilet paper, could not believe it lol lucky we do not need any at the moment!
Yeah, I didn't think it would be a problem in my woolies, either Amazeballs, I live out in the sticks and there were no toilet paper rolls. I've got a weeks worth left, so I will start worrying if I can't get any next week!
Toilet paper confuses me - are skid marks peoples main concern?
Also washing your ass is probably way more hygienic than wiping with toilet paper - food for thought.
Yeah the toilet paper or lack of is a shocker. People hoarding so many products.
I was reading an article that said people have been stealing toilet paper out of public toilets and actually getting into fights over being able to get a hold of toilet paper! Seems a little bit nuts to me honestly lol
I can't understand the thinking behind this, especially the toilet paper. We make our own paper in Australia a quick check on the packaging will tell you this. A lot of food in our shops is grown and made here too so if China stops exporting some things for a while we won't starve. Hand sanitizer won't do anything if an infected person coughs or sneezes on you. Corona virus doesn't cause diarrhoea, so why are people buying 6 months or more supply? Greedy, trying to make a profit, most likely and I hope no one buys their highly inflated toilet paper and I hope when they try and return it to the shops they are refused a refund. This has really opened my eyes to how greedy and stupid some people are, ggrrrrr.
Agree that most of the food and toilet paper Australia can grow or make within Australia, and does not need to rely upon overseas supply. Anyway, we just happened to have bought a large bulk and don't need to compete with the crazy shoppers for toilet paper lol.
One of the symptoms of COVID-19 is diarrhoea, but that wouldn't be the reason for the stockpiling of toilet paper.
Not stocking up but forced to buy double usual toilet paper as I have visitors staying in 2 weeks who are attending my sons wedding and there was very little available - so annoying!
I always have rice and pasta and my freezer is full of home made sauces and soups as I find it more economical too live this way so no need to hoard incase of anything.
We are just following advised hygiene standards - the usual for us and living our life.
I can't understand the thought processes behind all this panic buying tbh. I'm just gonna say it & say it bluntly: these people are absolute nutters!
Talked to a Nurse Practitioner Today she said people are going to the extreme with hoarding Toilet Paper and Cleaners.
Just good Old Liquid Soap and Water hand washing often, will do the trick.
No need to buy hundreds of Rolls of Toilet Paper Coronavirus is mostly a Respiratory Virus and very few people will have Chronic Diarrhoea
Anyone would think we are having a Zombie Apocalypse!
I think people are stocking up in case they get the virus and have to be quarantined in their own home for a length of time. It's absolutely crazy though.
Plus staple foods.
I just wanted to stock up so I don't run out because of this craziness. I tried to buy a 36 pack of toilet rolls through Woolies online pick-up (along with my other weekly shopping items), turned out I couldn't even buy one roll.
Yes the panic buying then leads to the fear of missing out buying. It's a viscous cycle
I have about 8 rolls left from the last bulk pack I bought and feel that is sufficient. I called into Aldi today on the way home, a woman in the car park said to me "they have toilet paper now, but it's limited"
I think if you have a pre-existing medical condition or your immune system is compromised you may wish to stay at home with your toilet paper. I'm honestly not bothered by it. If in the unlikely event I contract corona virus I'm confident I will live to tell the tale :)
I have Ulcerative Colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease and reduced immunity. No symptoms at the moment luckily, but I sometimes have to go to the toilet when it's bad 4 or 5 times before I can leave the house to go to work. I'm not rushing out to buy toilet paper though. It's madness, would have thought the Australian public had more common sense than this..
I have Ulcerative Colitis too. Bloody painful isn’t it.
Horrendous, when I first had symptoms and hadn't been diagnosed yet I was so scared. I'm quite petite as it is and I was losing so much weight. Had trouble just getting out of the bathroom in the morning to get to work on time.
Thankfully I haven't had any symptoms for a while now. Am travelling overseas in a couple of months and always worry about having a flare up when I'm away from home.
I little bit off topic. Have you ever watched Dr Michael Mosley. He did a story on this. You can also follow it on Twitter https://twitter.com/drmichaelmosley/status/1085484988970270720 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-6790139/DR-MICHAEL-MOSLEY-insert-weirdest-tummy-trouble-cure.html
Do you miss Summer when your lips are chapped from cold winds and winters blustery conditions?
I swear by this product 100%! While at my cousins house, I left my nappy bag in the car and had to change my son so she offered me her products and nappies to use.
I received this as a present for Christmas and I was excited to try it! I love almond milk and I’d heard many good things about it! I was excited but so was my toddler who got ahold of it.
