Can everyone share any skin care or makeup dupes they have heard of, know of, used or seen on the net.
I know of a few but would like ppl to share more... And help with cutting the budget!!!
Another one. W7-is very good.
I have both of these W7 palettes and I love them. I REALLY wanted the Naked ones, especially Naked 3 but I feel that my skill levels could not justify the cost. Also, I would just want to look at it and not use it when it costs so much!
The new-w7-delicious palette is dupe for Anastasia. Considering you have to throw palettes out after a while who cares.
Oh my, NEW W7 palettes?!?!?! ARGH!!! It does look great and those are colours that I don't have, it might add a bit of variety to my eye make up!
Great comparison pics ray_jay I have one or two of those W7 palettes somewhere I will have to find them and try! I know I have used other eyeshadows by w7 and was surprised at how pigmented the shades are. Sometimes it's hit and miss with the occasional colour being chalky or not long lasting but overall the majority work for me. Especially if you use an eyelid primer first. They also make lots of great mattes and it's getting hard to find matte shadows these days, so much glitter!
I agree. I'm so over glitter eye shadows. Personally I find mattes better and less ageing.
Thanks for feed back blackkitty kat. I've been researching as I don't want to spend the money on urban decay when I won't use it heaps and it will expiry.
I'd rather buy the real product than a dupe, but there is one range of eyeshadow palettes (dupes of the Urban Decay palettes) that look like they might be of okay quality by Coastal Scents. The palettes are called Revealed and you can buy them here in Australia:
(scroll down to see the three palettes)
Do a search to read up on reviews, swatches etc.
Australis have a new lip palette where you make custom shades which I have heard is a dupe of Anastasia's lip palette. I think it's more of a dupe of the concept than the colours themselves because the Australis one has fewer colours.
I recently dropped a bomb on skincare at Myer and one of my purchases was the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules (Advanced version) which I admit are darn good and I love them. But if you don't want to spend that much there are some dupes.
Neogen Dual Layer Ceramide Oil (Korean product) http://www.cosdna.com/eng/cosmetic_169a209017.html for the ingredients
Cerave Ceramide Boost gel oil (USA product) http://www.cosdna.com/eng/cosmetic_a8c9264323.html for the ingredients
I'd say the Cerave seems the closest, but the Neogen has some great plant extracts too so depends on what you are after.
I'm still living off samples of EA ceramide capsules but I'm going to have to buy them. I love them so much! Have you tried the EA ceramide capsules for the eyes?
I've been eyeing the Neogen Dual Layer Ceramide Oil for a long while though so might try that first before spending on EA ceramide capsules.
I never got samples of the EA capsules so it was a blind buy based off everyone raving lol - I only ever got Goodness samples in the Beautorium :( I do have the eye and the face ones (advanced versions) and must admit the eye ones don't do anything different than the face ones. If it were up to me and I had to choose I'd just get the face ones as I use them up to the eye area sometimes and it seems no different, if that makes sense? I did order the Cerave gel oil and will compare it as soon as it arrives.
Omg thanks duality.
I'm thinking I so need those products especially ceravae. I use the pm lotion and it is one of the best products ever.
I'm feeling some enabling here x
So as some of you may know I'be been using the Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Transformative Energy Cream (the $500 a jar one that I won in Beautorium). Well I've found a good dupe for it. The "expensive" part of the cream is the black truffle oil.

Yuri Pibu Cucu Marzona (Black Truffle) cream ingredients here: http://www.cosdna.com/eng/cosmetic_9a58224935.html
The Korean version costs about $40 (including postage) and you can buy the cream, a serum and an eye cream in the range. It has 60% black truffle and is an amazing dupe as it has some much better ingredients.
That's an amazing saving! Call me intrigued ;) Where can you find the Yuripibu cream? A quick search on google only pulls up shopping hits for the serum in the same line....
Vivian007 there are several Korean sellers on ebay with it and I hope this search link works for you. I will be buying it but have to wait until I clear the 6 creams I have in waiting!
All three products are available.
Thanks, duality :)
Duality stop it
Oh no ;-))
Oh duality, I want them all!! I'm keen to try Neogen ceramide gel but please do let us know how you find the Cerave gel.
I caved and ordered some Korean products off iHerb; only spent $78 though which is not TOO bad!
My take on the always talked about Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair with the blah blah long name and the Missha equally as long named Night Repair. There are blogs all over the net about this one and until recently I haven't tried the EL ANR but have for a long time used the Missha. Some people stopped loving the ANR so much is when they took out the retinol and others spat chips when Missha took out the licorice (me, lol). The ANR has less ingredients (can be good if you are prone to sensitivity or reactions) but Missha has more beneficial ingredients.

My 5 cents worth is the Missha is a better performer for my skin at least. It leaves my skin hydrated and silky and does visibly brighten it over time. It was my first product with ferments and it gave me a love of ferments as they give my skin real bounce, suppleness and elasticity.
The ANR smells kinda weird (earthy) and it leaves my skin with a dryness that I've not experienced before. I stuck with it hoping that "it gets worse before it gets better" but it's not getting better. I went back to my Missha and my skin is happy again.
For the record the Missha is around $40 postage included for 50ml and EL ANR is $150 for the same size. Leaves me with the dilemma of what to do with my 2/3 bottle of ANR and 2 x 7ml samples of it, lol. Maybe I should start sharing my stash and put a post on the swap thread?
Sounds amazing duality, thanks for sharing. I must try this Missha night repair! Can I ask what your skin type is and where you purchase this from?
My skin is dry and I am starting to get fine lines (am in my mid thirties), but have some oiliness in my T zone. Currently using the Estee Lauder ANR (first time purchase) but unsure if i can justify buying it again for the price, even though i love it. The Missha night repair is much more wallet friendly, that is for sure!
blackkittycat82 my skin type is normal to dry, the dry part is due to actives like tretinoin, vit c and other acids I use. I pick it up usually in one of my usual Korean store places like Roserose (like when they have their 30% off the Missha brand) or even their related Ebay stores when Ebay throws me one of their frequent vouchers or I found recently that iHerb has it pretty cheap too.
All I can put it down to is the ANR has caffeine and maybe that’s the reason it’s drying me out. The rest of the ingredients seem like nothing I haven’t used before. Bit of a mystery as it is very well loved by everyone.
I promised a quick review on the Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules versus the CeraVe Ceramide Gel Oil. In the previous thread I included ingredients for both and they are darn close and the CeraVe is definitely worthy of being called a dupe.
Just my 5 cents I think the CeraVe is ideal and maybe slightly better for drier skin types as it seems more nourishing. It would almost do the job on it's own as a sleeping pack if you did a full pump.
The EA has great portability though, just being able to pack 1-2 capsules in a little pot is great. If my skin is feeling tight and dry after using actives I use the CeraVe and find it boosts quicker than the EA. The EA work better under makeup as they are that little bit thinner.
Sorry to be a fence sitter, they are both good! I am using the EA in the morning and the CeraVe at night and I think I will continue with both. If price is a factor then you would definitely prefer the CeraVe
Great review comparing the 2 products, thanks duality! I will definitely be looking into the CeraVe.
I'm pretty convinced my nyx eyeshadow base is a dupe of the mac soft pain pots at 1/3rd price.
They apply just as nicely bad smooth out the area.
I think the mac is a nicest finish but at the price who cares.t
Edit these are for eye shadow bases.
And some more ray jay approved dupes.
Do you miss Summer when your lips are chapped from cold winds and winters blustery conditions?
I swear by this product 100%! While at my cousins house, I left my nappy bag in the car and had to change my son so she offered me her products and nappies to use.
I received this as a present for Christmas and I was excited to try it! I love almond milk and I’d heard many good things about it! I was excited but so was my toddler who got ahold of it.
