HI Bh beauties, Plz share with us the hyped beauty products of all time. How many and which hyped products you have bought?
What are the hyped products of 2015 ?
Which products worth hype and which does not work for you?
Which products you recommend buying?
overhyped is the new Maybelline Nudes eyeshadow palette, singularly the worst I have ever used, dry chalky garbage with no pigment! And it is so hyped on YouTube and Instagram and Facebook. On their Facebook page a whole lot of complaints about it. $25 and not even worth $1.
I am loving Korean stuff at the moment, buying way too much of it! It will be big in Australia soon, already USA has big shops dedicated to it, like Sephora stocking just stocking Korean stuff.
I'm sure a lot of forumites have this on their list duality, so good on you for mentioning this. I'm not keen on Maybelline's powder shadows in general.
I was so tempted to buy Maybelline Nude palette when it was on sale. Good to know that it is not as amazing as it should be.
Duality you obviously find that the Korean products suit your skin, unfortunately they don't work for mine and I am Asian, anyone know why?
I find that since using Monsia Skincare my skin has really settled, and I find that I can easily go out without any makeup if I want - skin has a really healthy "glow",and feels smooth.
I got carried away when the forum was abuzz with the Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer Trial. Yes, they're super pigmented & glossy, but they're sticky from the time you apply until a few hours later when there's just a stain of colour left. I bought two of these & I'm glad I didn't pay full price (but I rarely pay full price for anything!). I hate the stickiness!
Not from 2015 but Benefit's 'They're Real' mascara is a complete dud for me. Gives me terrible panda eyes. :(
For me this one lives up to the hype! Its prob my fav mascara. The benefit roller madcara was much hyped last year but I havent tried it yet.
Oh same here!!!! I was so excited to try it but it was one of the worst (if not the worst) mascaras I have ever used. It gave me panda eyes too!!!
SK II FTE, it was a complete fail for me!
It took months for my skin to fully recover from the big sore welts I broke out in :(
I tried a deluxe sample bottle of SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. I applied the liquid on my face each night, and in the morning, I always had little bumps, pimples and congested pores. I have dry and mature skin and I only get pimples when my face doesn't like an ingredient. If you read the reviews on BH for SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, not everyone loves it.
I received a bottle of Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II as a gift. When I first started using the serum, I didn't notice much except that it wasn't giving my dry skin the hydration that it needed. With extended use, it made my skin much more dry so I stopped using it. This is a product that has won awards on BH that did nothing for me.
The Loreal manga mascara - did absolutely nothing for me, total dud!
Maybelline fitme matte and poreless. I really didnt like the foundation at all. It went patchy and made my fine lines look terrible. Did nothing for my pores. I was so disapointed, I tried applying it with different tools, primers and moisturisers but ended up chucking it. Maybe you need to be super oily with no wrinkles for it to work. (I love the new fitme pressed powder tho)
Oh dear! I have the Manga mascara from L'Oreal. Haven't used it yet.
I recently wrote a positive review for L'Oréal Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara! I can understand why someone would not like it because it leans to the clumpy side if you apply too much of it. I don't mind clumps because I have almost invisible lashes, and I can smooth the clumps out to create some volume. Having said that, I haven't used the mascara for 3-4 months (suggested expiry date), so the formula might change.
Not a 2015 product, however the YSL Touche Eclat (is that how you spell it?). For such an expensive product, you get a very small amount of it and the product itself isn't good at all if you ask me!
Very poor lasting power and it does nothing that a drugstore brightener or concealer doesn't already do.
I wasn't impressed with this either.
Me third. I think it is an OK product - but not for that price! I personally use Garnier under eye roll on and it does a much better job.
These aren't from 2015 but in general I heard such good things about them and was just disappointed!
Avène Eau Thermal Spring Water... it's literally just spring water!!! Did nothing for my skin.
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil - wasn't moisturising at all. Luckily I only got a deluxe sample from bella box.
Klorane Oat Milk Dry Shampoo - it works but doesn't give me amazing hair!
I do like the Avène water, even if it is glorified spring water sprayed out of a can. I do find it refreshing on hot days, even though it doesn't last long.
Totally agree with you on the Nuxe oil. I got sucked in after hearing so many BH beauties rave about it, only to be very disappointed by it. It made my skin feel drier & definitely wasn't moisturising at all.
Me + dry shampoo = an itchy scalp, plus that stuff never works for my hair anyway. I tried Klorane ages ago but it didn't work for me.
I agree with you about Avène Eau Thermal Spring Water. It is just pressurised spring water in a can. It felt cooling for a few seconds, but that's about all.
I tried the shimmer version of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil. I've read countless reviews on how hydrating this product is, but it wasn't for me. I assume that it is designed for people that don't like the feel of oil on the skin. But oil is what provides nourishment and hydration.
So glad you started this forum... So many hyped products I've brought and been like huh what why...
Another vote for skii treatment essence. I've used it twice two bottles, both for free thank goodness and all I ended up with was blackheads and clogged pores.
Also - maybelinne great lash mascara!!
Nothing for me sooo hyped up.
Glamglow facial mud treatment-- did nothing for me at all!!
Creme de LA mer- what a waste of $$$$$
Glamglow did nothing but suck all the moisture from my skin! I wanted to love Creme de la Mer too, but it underwhelmed, particularly given the price.
Ohhh thanks for mentioning the Glamglow mud mask, ray_jay and Chicklet. I have had my eye on it ever since I saw it at Mecca. It's promoted as a mask that celebrities use, not that makes a difference, but now, I have to think about it. Definitely hyped quite a lot!
I haven't used Glamglow, but you could make your own clay mask and probably get similar results (you can buy natural clay in different colours to suit different types of skin). Although you can add other ingredients to a DIY clay mask, clay is the star ingredient.
Confession time - even though I'm a bit of a mascara junkie, I've never actually tried Great Lash! Might pick it up at some point and see if it lives up to the hype for me.
I've had a couple of sample sachets (including one to be used this week!) of the Glam Glow and I've not seen what all the fuss is about either.
Not bad. This leaves the lips shiny and moisturised.
Awesome. These balms are cute and come in a variety of shades and flavors and they also are very hydrating as well ! They leave the lips shiny and moisturised.
Hyaluronic DMAE Lift & Firm Cream 50g comes boxed. The cream comes in a pretty translucent purple plastic jar with screw on lid.
