My two and a half year old watches me brush my teeth when I'm using my electric toothbrush and is starting to get interested in trying it!
Was just wondering if/when children can start using an electric toothbrush or would it do any damage to their young gums and teeth?
I had an electric toothbrush from the age of 3. I remember having a Miss Piggy electric toothbrush.
I think the brush head was a lot smaller and softer than the regular toothbrush. My parents still helped and watched my sister and I brush our teeth.
There are some cute electric toothbrushes aimed at Children to encourage them to brush their teeth. I am sure you will help your child the first few times.
I find a link here that answers your question better than I can: http://www.babycenter.com.au/toddler/caringfor/electrictoothbrushexpert/
Here is a link to show you the types of electric toothbrushes for young children:
I don't like using electric toothbrush because they really "scrub" your teeth. Although it leaves a clean feeling afterwards, you're pretty much scrubbing your enamel off. I prefer to use a manual soft toothbrush and lightly brush my teeth (in a circular motion and massaging my gums down) to keep it clean and my enamel intact. So, I'm not so sure about giving your child an electric toothbrush. But see what others think and it's entirely up to you. :) Good luck!
Thanks for all of the advice (and useful links to other websites) ... I think for now I will stick to a regular toothbrush for her. Never thought about the enamel wear issue before either!
The age of three (average age when kids start brushing their teeth on their own) is quite okay I think. At least, my son started brushing his teeth with electric brush in this age. If you have more questions, you can find answers reading various comments and reviews (http://www.pissedconsumer.com/consumer-reviews/dental.html). At least for me this website appeared to be very helpful :)
Not bad. This leaves the lips shiny and moisturised.
Awesome. These balms are cute and come in a variety of shades and flavors and they also are very hydrating as well ! They leave the lips shiny and moisturised.
Hyaluronic DMAE Lift & Firm Cream 50g comes boxed. The cream comes in a pretty translucent purple plastic jar with screw on lid.
