Hi...just have a few weeks til i give birth to my first baby and getting nervous lol. How long does it take to get ur head around things and settle? Basically start to get the hangs of things?
Depends on the baby. With my first, I had to go back to work straight away but she was a great sleeper and pretty easy going so it wasn't difficult at all. With my second, I was a stay-at-home mom, a more experienced mother and she was also a good baby, so it was easy too. But with my third, he was a bit of a nightmare. Very needy and a terrible sleeper. At 3 years old, he's still the same. It's one of those things where you just don't know until you know, but you'll adapt quickly. Just remember that having babies is nothing new. People do it all the time, so you'll be fine. ;)
I'm due to have my third in September, and I have a 13 yr old boy, and a nearly 10 yr old girl. I think I'm STILL trying to get the hang of things ;D
The great thing about being a Mum is that you get a little person who will love you unconditionally. Don't feel too nervous, just love them to bits. Each child is different, so you will need to adapt and learn the personality of your new little one. If only they came with an instruction manual!
People will want to give you advice along the way too, so you take what will work for you and your little family, and ignore the rest.
But also don't be afraid to reach out for help if you need it. :D
Wishing you all the best!!
I had my first child last year, she will be 1 in June. For me, I had a good understanding of what she needed and her routine by about 6 weeks. I had have a great baby though, sleeping all night and most of the day from 4 weeks. The best advice I can give to you is listen to your instincts- they are always right, accept any help that people want to offer, sometimes on the weekends my girlfriends would bring around McDonalds for lunch, we would catch up and they would watch my daughter so I could have a shower in peace lol. You can listen to peoples advice but you don't have to take it. Everyone will be an expert, well think they are lol. You just do what feels right for you and bubs.
Good luck, its the very best time in life.
Thank u so much. I understand everyones experience is different and we just have to take it one day at a time ;-)
I was going to say the same. Nobody really knows how they'll be until they're living it. I have a 13 year old, 6 year old and twin three year olds and I coped differently each time. Go with the flow!
I have an 11 month old and I totally understand your concerns. I was so nervous before I had her, and I think it took me quite a while to settle in to being a mum. But by 3 months we were all good :-) Definitely listen to your instincts, mums always know best! Accept as much help as you can, and don't be afraid to say no to people, you really need to rest and recover in the first few weeks, to allow you and your baby time to get to know each other. Go with the flow, breathe calmly whenever you feel anxious or frustrated and with anything stressful just remember that babies grow and change so quickly - one of my favourite things to remember is 'this too shall pass'. Good luck :-)
Hi gemstar, I'm a first-time mom too. My baby boy is 5 months old, and I agree with everyone else, you won't know until your baby is here, because every baby is different. Sometimes you still have to play it by ear. Usually it can take a couple of weeks, for yourself and your baby, to fall into some sort of routine...but babies being babies, just when you think you have worked out a 'pattern', your baby WILL change it lol!
I'll start by saying that I have a nose full of blackheads and so there is plenty of area for these strips to work on.
I was so lucky to be on the trial team for this cream! I have sensitive dry skin and sometimes I get a bit of a rash and SO itchy!!
Avene is a great brand for sensitive skin and the Xeracalm AB Lipid Balm did not disappoint!
