Hair brush recommendations for fine hair

I have same problem as you. Long thin and pulls.

Six months ago I brought 3 more inches brush from mecca. Best descion ever. No more pain tangles and 90% less breakage. My hair is 99% better from this. My hair is stronger smoother and so healthy. Doesn't pull.

The brush is wooden and so is strong won't break.

I also have very fine hair, but a lot of it!! I have used this brush for years now and I find that it is perfect for my hair type. I am very prone to breakage, but this brush minimises the damage a lot:) It is also really good at detangling also:) I have only had two of these brushes in about 7 years, so they are also great quality:)

I read those too but I haven't had any problems but I think this is because I have fine hair. Perhaps people with thick hair have more of this problem.

Another good one is the Moroccan oil brush. It's pretty good.

I'm just going to add my 5c worth from my hairdressing point of view. I watched so many people over the years yanking on their hair. They starting at the top and brush like lunatics, so any brush or even comb will snap your hair.

I have used many professional brands over the years and then I did a trial for Lady Jayne and their hair accessories are just as good as the ones I have paid bigger bucks for. Use your tools correctly and most brands will do the job. Happy brushing :)

Absolutely go with a tangle teezer. My hair is fine and long, it doesn't get super knotty but the tangle teezer is just awesome for gentle brushing. I recommend the shower version for wet hair because of the size and the new paddle brush (http://bit.ly/2pc6vEZ0) is great if you don't like the shape of their normal ones.

I bought Lady Jayne TanglePro for my hubby a few months ago after reading good reviews for wet and tangled hair. His hair is long & fine too. He was skeptical at first because the bristle are shorter than normal but he is a real convert now.

I use a combination of tools, I really should downsize! My hair is very fine but I like to keep it long (which my hair doesn't co-operate easily with), and although over the years I thought I always like those plastic small radial brushes with the ball tips, I ended up realising it was the main reason my hair snaps off so easily. When those little balls come off, or the edges of them aren't flat, they pull, snag and tear my hair out, not to mention the bare bristles hurt my scalp! ...Honestly how did it take me so long to work this out?!

Anyway, now I either use a comb or the Models Prefer Wet & Dry Knot Anymore Compact Size Detangler (Like a Tangle Teezer but with a bit of a handle), start at the ends very gently, and then once the knots are out glide from the roots. So easy because there's no bobbly bits to snag, just smooth, round pointed bristles. I haven't tried it on wet hair really, but if I'm blow drying I'll also use a Models Prefer Ceramic Ionic Radial Brush, which has a combination of bare plastic bristles and boar bristles which really smooth my hair and make it shiny. This one doesn't really do much for knots at all, but it's great for smoothing and blow drying a nice shape, without snagging.

I've also often heard with fine hair it's a good idea to use a wide tooth comb, but I don't have one and I don't see how that's going to do much really.

I haven't used a brush on my hair since I was 15 and discovered the perm comb. I always thought my hair was too fine to even consider using a brush again, maybe I'll try some of the suggestions above. Thanks.

I have long, fine hair but because it is wavy I never brush it. I only comb it in the shower with conditioner in it. I either use one of those flat brushes from Priceline for about $2 (the ones that look like a "horse brush") or a wide tooth comb. When it is dry I use my fingers to remove any tangles; anything else and it frizzes big time. When brushing or combing your hair you should start from the bottom and work your way up, and always hold it above where you are combing so you cause less damage.
