Wanting to know your opinion, experiences and results from IPL or Laser Hair Removal?
Whats the difference?
I want to try laser first. I want to try my underarms to begin with to see what it's like, the Ipl scares me a bit ( too many Acurrent affairs lol)
If I did look into IPL more I would pay the extra and see a top of the line clinic to be safe
I had a full Brazilian IPL done a few years ago and it was amazing... That was until I had kids. No one told me when I was dishing out all this money that when you have babies the hair grows back, apparently if you're lucky it can fall out afterwards, I was not so lucky and whilst the area is definitely not as thick and not as much has grown back as before, I wish I had of saved my money and did the IPL after I had kids.
Hi jayne28, I had laser Brazillian a few years ago. It was fantastic! Very effective. Then I got IPL on my thighs (Groupon deal), but it didn't do much, even though I had more sessions on my thighs than I did for my Brazillian.
If you're around the Sydney metro area, I HIGHLY recommend Ywax at Parramatta. (I don't work there!)
I saw an ad for a single free session for armpits. I went along then decided to get my Brazillian done. I don't know if Ywax still offer this.
Ive been wanting to try laser but apparently it stings :S
I am currently in the process of having laser I would highly recommend it as it is effective and not nearly as painful as I remember Ipl being
Wow excellent forum topic and posts because I have been wondering the same thing. Which is better? Laser hair removal sounds like it hurts a lot less so I think this is the option for me but I'm worried as I have sensitive skin and have heard it leaves scars. Has anyone had any bad experiences or been left scarred from these treatments? I am really interested to know
I like this question!
last year I won a voucher on the radio to get laser hair removal, I used the voucher to get a brazillian and underarms.
I managed to get 3 sessions out of it, but I didn't see very good results so when the voucher ran out I didn't bother continuing because the place was pretty expensive.
I am however currently trialing the Philips Lumea Prestige home IPL machine, it retails around the $800 mark at the shaver shop, I was skeptical using a home unit, but omg, wow, I love it. I am using it on my face, legs, bikini and back of my neck and have seen magnificent results, even after the first treatment, I completed the third fortnightly treatment on Friday past. my bikini and under arms have had the best results so far. I have had no reactions, it doesn't hurt. I highly recommend it!
Beejaye I am so glad you've jumped in! I rang a laser hair removal clinic in my area and it wasn't until I really politely grilled her that she said most people need maintenance seasons a few times a year to be hair free. So even after spending $2500 I still had to do maintenance!
I just don't think it's worth it so it is going to be IPL for me but I can't decide which brand to buy? I was thinking Lumea then BH had information about another brand that I am really fond of, BaByliss. It has a fantastic hairdressing range so I am still trying to decide.
I'm am glad that you are getting such wonderful results with your trial and I hope you are totally hair free soon! I've been following the trial so I will keep my fingers crossed for you all :)
I am currently doing laser for Brazillian and underarms due to that I got really bad ingrown's all the time, no matter what I did. I've had 3 sessions and I haven't had a single ingrown the entire time. I also have had a massive reduction in hair growth. I also got all my treatments at 50% so that was quite an incentive. However, it really does depend on your hair type, thickness, colour etc. But at least for me, it's been working. You always do a consultation? I use silk laser clinics and they've been quite good
The previous post looks like a one post wonder spam post (for Silk Laser Clinics). This could be a genuine post, but I'm suspicious, so I've reported it.
After I came across faultless reviews about this product I just wanted to share my experience with as many people I could.
