5 minutes with…Lara Bingle
If you haven’t been hiding under a rock for the past few months, you’ll know that Lara Bingle’s new reality television show, Being Lara Bingle, starts tomorrow night (8pm, Channel 10.) The Aussie model has invited a camera crew into her life and opened the doors into her world. Between nude photo scandals and fiery voicemails from Nana – nothing is sacred – and we just can’t wait see what happens.
Lara has also been on our beauty radar for a while now. She’s got the subtle-wash of balayage down pat, can rock a nude lip like no-one’s business and has that kind of glowy, dewy radiant skin that normal people have to spend hours trying to achieve. (Grr!)
So given all that, I thought it was high time we cornered Lara and squeezed all her juiciest beauty tips and tricks right out of her – it’s not fair she keep them all to herself, it’s all about sharing, right?
bh: Lara, in your mind, which celebrity never gets it wrong in the hair and make-up stakes?
LB: I am a big fan of Natasha Poly – she is always so flawless and beautiful.
[Psst – want to recreate one of Natasha Poly’s red carpet looks? We’ve got the goods right here…]
bh: If you could choose three products to take with you to a deserted island, what would they be and why?
LB: Dove Tinted Moisturiser – it's always included in my daily regime and makes me look fresh; La Mer Lip conditioner – it’s like velvet on my lips; and Kiehls crème de corps – the most amazing body moisturiser that keeps my skin super-enriched and moisturised.
bh: How many lip products do you have in your bag right now? (And which is your favourite?)
LB: I always seem to have 2 or 3 floating in my handbag, when I go for a red lip, I can't go past the Tom Ford Cherry Lush Lipstick – the name really says it all!
bh: A genie grants you a wish and says you can receive a never-ending supply of the beauty product of your choice. What do you choose, and why?
LB: Ooohhh where do I start, I think it would have to be access to the Mecca Stores! I get the best of all beauty products that way.
bh: Got a beauty trick you swear by?
LB: Smothering your body in Organic Cold Pressed Coconut Oil. I use this throughout winter and apply it after the shower while I’m still wet so it sinks into my skin.
