Three lessons we can learn from Lindsay Lohan
She may be back to her redheaded roots, but has the former Hollywood wild child really learned anything since her platinum blonde days?
She may have managed to stay out of the headlines for, oh, I don’t know… a good few months now, but even though LiLo may seem like she’s on the up and up, I can’t help but notice how worn and weathered she’s looking.
Especially at the recent premiere of her new flick Liz & Dick. LiLo looked at least 10 years older than her 26 years. I suspect there’s more than one reason she looks that way – and luckily, we’ve determined three lessons we can learn from LiLo to ensure we don’t end up falling into the same trap…
LESSON FROM LILO #1: Prevention is the best cure
I don’t only mean using quality anti-ageing skin care as a preventative for lines and wrinkles (though you’re never too young to get started with that). I’m talking more about Lindsay’s lifestyle choices: the drinking, the smoking and the partying that have left her looking so tired and older than her years. Obviously having such a crazy lifestyle is one of the main reasons LiLo looks the way she does, so before you head out to your next drink-fuelled birthday party, decide if it’s actually worth it – or if you should drive and stay sober instead.
LESSON FROM LILO: #2: Dress age appropriate
Rocking a champagne-coloured satin gown is normally reserved for actresses such as Helen Mirren or Meryl Streep. If you’re worried that you already look a little too mature for your age, add a younger element to your look – like a fun pop of colour. Don’t forget to stick to hues and styles that suit you, too. Although LiLo may have lost the unflattering tandoori fake tan shade from her skin (yippee!),her natural, paler colour just doesn’t suit a dress in that champagne hue.
LESSON FROM LILO #3: Less is most definitely more
Lindsay’s definitely heading in the right direction by embracing her natural hair colour and paler skin, so we’re not sure why she’s still going overboard on the make-up. We also suspect LiLo may have dabbled with lip enhancement procedures, and we can’t help but think she’d look so much more youthful and gorgeous if she were a little less pouty. If you’re worried about tackling ageing – whether through cosmetic procedures or finding the right make-up for you - ensure you do your research first. You don’t want to end up appearing ‘unnatural’ and much older than you actually are by looking ‘overdone’.
