Let's embrace your inner natural beauty nut
I’m the furthest thing from hippie-esque, beauties, but that doesn’t stop me from embracing natural, radiance-boosting beauty habits. Because at the end of the day, it’s an epic win for both my insides and outsides when I stumble across an organic or natural product that does a spectacular job.
Are you keen to let your inner hippie chick run a tad wild too, but don’t know where to start? Well, you’re in luck because we’ve rounded up a few non-scary natural beauty habits you can adopt tomorrow or even today; ones that are sure to leave your skin glowing and your insides happy.
Up your (coconut) water intake
If you struggle to down 8+ glasses of water on a daily basis, why not give coconut water a whirl? This natural liquid helps to flush the body of toxins, making way for happy, healthy organs, which means clear, glowing skin. It’s got loads of minerals and vitamins, and is a complete winner for those with acne-prone skin, too, as coconut water can be used as a toner to minimise blackheads, whiteheads and even acne scars. Who knew, huh?
Treat your skin to some organic goodness
Got dull, blah-ish skin? Organic skin care might just give it the healthy boost it needs. I’m currently flirting with some Bloom Organics products - Gentle Organic Cleansing Oil, Organic Refreshing Facial Mist and Hydrating Facial Moisturiser – and my skin is delighted with the injection of natural anti-oxidants. Containing much-loved organic ingredients like rosehip, argan, sweet almond and jojoba oils, they all come up trumps when it comes to promoting supple, radiant, soft skin.
Embrace raw, anti-oxidant rich foods
If you can’t access or afford true organic tucker, raw foods like fruits, nuts and vegetables are a sensational way to fight nasty free radicals and promote youthful skin. We’re talking anything bright in colour – think berries, spinach, carrots, tomatoes, avocados, capsicum, oranges – because colourful produce is packed with vitamins and nutrients that are vital for our health and wellbeing. Other natural wonders such as tuna, salmon and walnuts are also brilliant for the skin.
Pop a glow-inducin g pill
Taking somethi ng like Blackmores Radiance capsules on a daily basis isn’t exactly hippie-like, but it’s still a brilliant way to moisturise and protect your skin from the inside out. These little gems work on the deeper layers of your skin, helping to boost hydration, decrease the effects of sun and free radical damage, maintain the structure of the skin and keep it looking – and feeling – firm. It’s an all-in-one age-fighting wonder, really. ($66.95 per 56 capsule pack | 1800 803 760)
